YOGA CLASSES

GENTLE YOGA
This yoga integrates mental focus, various breathing methods and relaxation techniques with traditional Hatha Yoga Asanas, (body poses). Modifications and variations to poses will be offered.

POWER YOGA
Discover how powerful the mind/body connection is for fitness, healing and true health. Here is the physical, no nonsense form of yoga exercise! Sweeping vinyasas (postures performed in sequence) and challenging yoga postures produce the perfect balance of flexibility & strength! Various props such as weights, balls, straps, or blocks may be used.

BOOMER & BEYOND YOGA
Loosen tight muscles using yoga poses that are save on all muscles and joints in the body and do not violate the principles  of exercise specificity.  Practice breathing patterns during all poses and employ some meditations for the purpose of soothing the brain and emotions.   

SILVERSNEAKERS® YOGASTRETCH
YogaStretch will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement.  Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.                      

SPORT SPECIFIC YOGA
As part of NDAC’s commitment to overall health and well being, Sport specific yoga classes will be offered seasonally. These 6 week courses will enhance and improve your performance both on and off the field. Please check our monthly schedules and flyers for details.

VINYASA YOGA
A basic yoga class to increase flexibility and strength while emphasizing relaxation. Various Vinyasas and Asanas, taken from several yoga disciplines, will be utilized and modifications offered. Focus is on movement and breath; leave the class feeling energized, strengthened, and balanced. This is an excellent addition to all training programs!

YOGA FOR FLEXIBILTY
This class utilizes a fusion of traditional yoga stretches and poses with basic stretching exercises aimed at improving flexibility, range of motion and postural alignment in a soothing 60 minute format.  All fitness levels are welcome.

YOGA FUNDAMENTALS
Are you ready to try some yoga? In Yoga Fundamentals, we’ll take you from the foundation and build your body and confidence. There are no beginnings or endings in this class; it is simply a progression toward a more perfect balance.


PILATES CLASSES

MAT PILATES
Pilates is a class designed to promote a balanced muscular-skeletal system, resulting in improved core strength, flexibility, good posture and improved body awareness. Pilates is a series of exercises done in a certain sequence while lying on a mat, maybe with a ball, or bands. Concentration, quality and precision of movement are emphasized. This 6 week course will be offered seasonally.

PILATES BASED CORE CONDITIONING

The core is both the foundation and the center of activity.  This class will focus attention to those muscles the body uses for every movement. Pilates exercises will strengthen your abdominal muscles and your back muscles.  The result will be a body that is leaner, longer and stronger!

POWER PILATES
This is an intermediate level Pilates mat class. The core will be strengthened and flexibility increased in this challenging class. Prior Mat Pilates experience is strongly suggested.
